Our Story
Professor Johnny Moore FRCOphth, PhD. Consultant Ophthalmologist and Clinical Director of Cathedral Eye Clinic, a facility that is synonymous with Quality, Care, and Excellence. The therapeutic effects of Omega 3 for treating Dry Eye are much more well known now.
In 2015 wishing his patients to have access to supplements of the highest quality, that the current Dry Eye supplement market couldn’t provide. Professor Moore wanted his patients to have an Omega 3 supplement that would meet 3 key factors:
Use a quality oil, that was not ‘off’ smelling, and tasting poor.
Use in a high dose, to further improve effects
Use everyday for long enough to see positive effects
An Omega 3 Dry Eye supplement of superior quality and stability was needed to give patients and their clinicians confidence in the therapeutic value, with no negative side effects.

Sourcing Our Fish
It is always easier to produce great quality products when you start with good quality ingredients.
ALL the fish oil in Eye Nutrients products is sourced from reputable suppliers in EC with a policy to only use fishing fleet with strict quota in sustainable fishing grounds.
Eye Nutrients base oil is ALL tested and certificated to meet (and is well below) the strict EC and WHO regulations on contaminants.

We use Olive oil as an antioxidant component to stabilise the Omega 3 and prevent oxidation & rancidity.
One of the components that is thought to be responsible for health promoting effects of the Mediterranean diet.
One observational study graded the level of Mediterranean foods (MDS) and correlated this data with AMD prevalence and found that those with the highest MDS scores had 50% less chance of developing neovascular AMD than those with the lowest scores.
Compared to other Omega supplements?

There is a current on-going Ethics approved study taking place in Cathedral Eye Clinic.
Studying the effectiveness of Eye Nutrients Dry Omega in improving Ocular health in patients undergoing intraocular lens-based surgery or laser refractive surgery.
The purpose is to further understand how a high quality, naturally stable omega supplement impacts upon the postoperative outcomes of patients taking part.
